Skylar Pond, B.S., D.C.
Dr. Pond was born in his family home off a beach in Lahaina and raised Vegetarian in rural Washington.  This gave him the opportunity to define his values of health and nutrition as he was constantly challenged at sports physicals and warned that he would never grow muscles if he didn’t eat steak.  He grew in spite of the frantic hand waiving of the local medical authorities and went on to compete in Men’s Division I club rugby for 7 seasons representing his college (TESC) then Tacoma Nomads, then New York Old Blue out of Manhatten, then the USA national team in the Hong Kong 10’s 2003,  and finally ORSU out of Portland Oregon where Dr. Pond attended Western States Chiropractic College.

During his rugby career Skylar was plagued with chronic shoulder injuries and frequent dislocations and subluxations.  It got to the point where his right shoulder would come out of socket several times in any given match.  An MRI confirmed torn right labrum and severe left shoulder tendonitis threatened to end his playing career as he was slated for bilateral reconstructive surgeries.

On the day of the scheduled surgery, Skylar had a change of heart and through a vigorous rehabilitation program of his own design, stabilized the shoulders and recovered fully without surgery or missing ANY rugby practices or matches.  Inspired by this triumph, he sought to share that success with as many people as he could.  The obvious choice was chiropractic.
  • Graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in March of 07.  Always up for a challenge, he chose this school because of its reputation as “the most academically demanding institute in chiropractic.”
  • Upon graduation, he moved with his wife and their two sons Finley and Sullivan to Cork City, Ireland where he began his first chiropractic practice serving the much underserved needs of the local farming and urban communities.
  • Since returning to the Northwest in February of 2009 and beginning practice with New Balance, Dr. Pond has sought to make his vision of overall physical excellence a reality for all of his patients.
  • Before chiropractic college, Dr. Pond was a personal trainer/ fitness coach and a wild land firefighter with the Olympic National Park.
